Biology for One-Health

Key features of the Bachelor’s in “Biology for One-Health”

The Bachelor’s in “Biology for One-Health” is taught in English and explores specific aspects with particular reference to human health, the conservation, protection, and restoration of ecosystems, and the main investigative techniques in the field. In addition, the Bachelor’s in “Biology for One-Health” aims to train biologists who have knowledge of the basic concepts and main advanced methods of analysis and investigation useful for ensuring a holistic approach to countering health threats. Students will acquire preparatory skills to understand biological disciplines, as well as biomathematics, physics, and statistics, with the aid of experimental laboratory experiences that will introduce students to the most modern methods of analysis. The courses are annual and the program includes 17 core courses and 2 activities chosen by the students (12 credits), an internship, and an experimental thesis dedicated to the knowledge and in-depth study of experimental methods and data processing, taking into consideration case studies with a One-Health approach. One of the main career opportunities for graduates with a Bachelor’s in “Biology for One-Health” is to continue their studies in English-language master’s degree programs, of which there are about 30 nationwide, representing a highly attractive option for a bachelor’s degree in English, which is the first step in university education.
